Blame It On the Large Hadron Collider Day - September 10

Image
It's Blame It On the Large Hadron Collider Day! On this date in 2008 the Large Hadron Collider went live and began colliding particles for the first time. It's still the largest and highest energy particle collider in the world, and is helping physicists in their understanding of the universe. So why blame the LHC? Well, this holiday combines out fears of the unknown with having some fun with strange happenings. Pretend that the sock you lost in the laundry or the misplaced TV remote or that weird-looking plant growing in your yard happened because the LHC somehow altered the universe.
