Holidays today involve Prohibition, teenagers of good character, religious freedom, the celebration of nothing, Fig Newtons, hot and spicy food, Bald Eagles, and dragons: Appreciate a Dragon Day Bald Eagle Appreciation Day International Hot and Spicy Food Day National Fig Newton Day National Good Teen Day Nothing Day Prohibition Remembrance Day Religious Freedom Day The 18th Amendment to the US Constitution was ratified on this date in 1919; a year later the Prohibition era began. The idea of Nothing Day is that there should be nothing celebrated today. Unfortunately for the creators, a fair number of holidays happen today despite that goal. Since I went with an eagle picture a few days ago for Save the Eagles Day, I'm going to use a dragon picture for today's Appreciate a Dragon Day instead of more eagles for Bald Eagle Appreciation Day.
