Holidays 2021-01-04

Holidays today are about the braille written language, a famous dwarf performer, the pop music chart, fresh starts at the beginning of the new week/year, the dimpled chads of a paper voting ballot, giving a flower basket as a gift, weighing yourself with a goal of achieving a healthy body weight, hypnotism, spaghetti, and trivia:
Dimpled Chad Day harkens back to the presidential election of 2000, considered controversial at the time but which could be considered a smooth election/transition compared to this year.

Charles Sherwood Stratton, whose stage name was General Tom Thumb, was born on this date in 1838.

Louis Braille, who was blinded in childhood and would go on to develop the braille reading language for the blind, was born on this date in 1809.

Many workers and students look forward to Fridays, but there's something to be said for Mondays too. Many times a new job will start on a Monday, and Mondays potentially give you an opportunity for a fresh start to the new week.

If you've worked up an appetite reading about all these holidays, maybe it's time for some spaghetti.
