Today's observances are about Scotland and its tartan fabric, sexual assault awareness, surviving/handling rejection, Twinkies, teflon, and beer:
The first Tuesday of April - designated Sexual Assault Awareness Month - is itself designated as a day of action regarding sexual assault.
Charlie the Tuna who gets rejected by StarKist is the "poster fish" for rejection.
Teflon was invented on this date in 1938.
Before the repeal of Prohibition, low alcohol beverages like beer and wine were made legal effective on April 7, 1933. The day before that is celebrated as New Beer's Eve.
