Holidays 2021-04-15 (b)
Taking wild guesses, the sinking of the Titanic, griping about stuff,, things that suck, rubber erasers, the high five, and art are all part of today's observances:
On this date in 1770 Joseph Priestley used a rubbery substance to erase pencil markings.
On this date in 1912 the Titanic sank after hitting an iceberg, taking the lives of 1500 people.
National Take a Wild Guess Day and National Griper's Day were both inspired by April 15 being the traditional tax-filing day here in the US. (Tax-filing day also partly inspired That Sucks Day too, though the Titanic sinking and the death of Abraham Lincoln were also part of it.)
But let's end on a happier note; it's also a day to celebrate art.
